Dental sealants are a great option for kids and young people to keep cavities at bay! These thin plastic coatings are applied to the back teeth, along the pits and deep grooves (or fissures) that can’t be cleaned fully with a toothbrush.
By sealing up the deep, unreachable areas, teeth are protected from bacteria and cavities and make brushing easier. Dental sealants can last for many years, even into adulthood.
