At Cedar Tree Dental, Dr. Tina Alexander and Associates offer a range of services for surgical and implant services — including wisdom teeth removal and dental implants.

Sometimes a tooth cannot be maintained and needs to be removed for many different reasons — such as decay or damage, an infection or to make room during orthodontics.

We ensure that the area is completely numb and can also offer sedation to help you stay relaxed during the procedure.

Our last set of molars don’t always have enough room and sometimes they can even grow sideways! When your mouth is unable to accommodate newly grown wisdom teeth, they will need to be removed to prevent infections, decay that cannot be treated or your other teeth from shifting and causing problems in the future.

If you require wisdom teeth removal, a dentist will need to evaluate your case immediately. Some cases require an oral surgeon to complete but some of these can be done right here. We can provide you with sedation to help you stay relaxed and advise that you take it easy for the rest of the day.

For longer or more complicated procedures, many patients may feel anxious and require help to stay relaxed. We offer an oral sedation medication that is to be taken in the office 30 minutes to one hour prior to the start of the procedure. This prescription will be provided to you beforehand and you will be instructed to bring it with you to your appointment.

After receiving minimal oral sedation, we advise having someone accompany you home after the procedure is completed (or staying behind at the office for a little while longer). This can be used alone or in conjunction with inhaled sedation.

Coming soon to our office! We will soon be able to provide a deeper level of sedation, using intravenous, to put our patients in a sleepier, more relaxed state. Each patient is monitored, with all vital signs and medications documented, from the beginning of the appointment right through to the dismissal. Patients will need to arrive ahead of time and arrange for a ride home as well as someone to stay with you for several hours post treatment.
